Arts Without Borders Present KATHA – Stories told through dance.
Life is a tapestry of stories woven with threads of emotions, thoughts, and experiences that connect us as human beings. Arts Without Borders is on a mission to tell these stories through dance no matter whose stories they are, what they are about, and where they are from. Driven by this mission, we proudly present Katha- stories of seemingly ordinary people, doing extraordinary things once they decide to stand up against the marginalization and discrimination they face and reclaim their identity. The first performance is a Bharatanatyam dance which draws on the ancient Hindu concept of ARDHANARESHWAR, or the symbolic unity between the male and the female, and through a skit called “Docile to Durga” makes a statement against domestic violence. The second performance called “Walking on Clouds” reflects similarities and challenges faced by people of disabilities and color.
Please join us to watch these outstanding virtual performances on Oct 2, 2021 at 9PM EST and show your support for a kinder and more inclusive world.
